I am an independent artist and writer working across performance, art and poetry. My work examines the human condition, interrogating shifting identities and personal politic; the starting point of a work often arising from lived experience. Applying form, craft, skill and rigour to these experiences I create work that speaks broadly to what it is to be a woman, mother, human in the world right now. I value research, intuitive processes and working within the unknown; often not knowing what the work is until I've created it. I value shared dialogue and transparent processes around work with both audience and artists.
My current enquiry investigates themes of motherhood, death and grief, engaging in poetic form, non-fiction writing and a range of mixed media, within solo and collaborative contexts. More recently my work has led me to exploring new forms and processes, while my lineage in performance making continues to inform the work I make, creating moving and challenging relationships in which audience can be active and present.
I live and work in a small coastal town, while raising my two sons.
